The dam which is located between Kastamonu and its district Taşköprü and built for irrigation purposes is an important investment of 23rd Regional Directorate of State Hydraulic Works.

Under contract, 1.500.000 m3 excavation and 3.000.000 m3 filling production were performed. Derivation tunnel of the dam which was constructed with a 2.850.000 m3 clay core filling material is 496 m and 3.5 m in diameter.
