Sultansuyu Dam was designed for irrigation purposes and
was built on Sultansuyu in Malatya province. It is earth fill type and 1,350,000
m3; of excavation and 3,200,000 m3; of filling were required during
the construction. The derivation tunnel is 397 m. long and 4.5 m. wide, the
dam height is 55 m. and crest length is 721 m. The dam has a reservoir capacity
of 53.3 x 106m3; with a 2,625 x 106m2; reservoir area.
