The plant, which supplies the drinking and usage water needs of Mersin province and Tarsus town, was completed in 3 different stages, each having a capacity of 130,000 m³/day .The project was undertaken by the partnership of Yüksel and OTV (French company). The plant has all technical equipment encompassing all functional units such as raw water pumping station, aeration structures, coagulation (rapid mixing) tanks, siclo-floc type clarifiers, rapid sand filters, disinfection tanks, treated water tanks, chemical building, chlorination building and sludge thickeners and dewatering. Total treatment capacity of the plant, all three stages of which were constructed by Yüksel Constuction Co.,Inc. , is 390,000 m³/day.
