Akmerkez Complex, constructed by Yüksel Construction Co., Inc. is a successful example of modern urbanization projects in Turkey, and was chosen several times as “the best shopping center project in the world” by the International Shopping Council (ICSC). The 173,000 m² building complex located in İstanbul’s midtowm area, includes 4 floors of shopping center, two round commercial towers of 14 floors and 17 floors respectively and a 5 star 24 floor apart hotel of 1,050 m² floor area each. First two underground floor are car park while one floor is allocated for mechanical systems. This complex is entirely constructed with steel frame covered with aluminium-glass front and is provided with all modern architectural, mechanical and electronic equipment. The center has more than 250 shops, planned according to the “shop-mix” method and is visited by more than 3 million people a month, and represents a venue of niceties offering recreational and cultural facilities to the people and the city of İstanbul.
