The project was designed to build two ferryboat ports in Lake Van in order to connect the railway of Ankara - Tatvan. A dry dock with dimensions of 90 x 18 x 6 m. was built to construct 100 m. long ferryboats. With a total length of 300 m. two piers, and with a total length of 100 m. two quay walls, were constructed along with associated breakwaters. To achieve this, 120,000 m³ of dredging, 1,901,330 tons of rockfill, 500,000 m³ of earthfill, 15,000 m³ of concrete and 50,000 m. of piling works were utilized.
