The contract aims to meet the natural gas requirements of the residential and industrial areas in the Anatolian part of Istanbul and was completed by Yüksel Construction Co., Inc. within seven months by using intensive manpower and equipment. The implementation included installation of a steel natural gas pipe of 600 mm. in diameter and 35 km. in length, 26 valve rooms and 25 take-off valves. By the completion of the said work, 200,000 natural gas subscribers in the districts to the south of the E5 highway on the Anatolian side were supplied with regular gas and consequently new capacity was created for 300,000 new subscribers in the districts to the north of the E5 highway.
