24 Dec 2014 - Yüksel Signed The Contract In Turkey’s Largest Natural Gas Pipeline Project - Ankara

Yüksel İnşaat A.Ş., signed a construction contract in TANAP (Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline), one of the largest energy infrastructure projects of Turkey, on December 23, 2014. The second lot out of three pipeline construction tender packages has been awarded to SICIM (Italy)-YÜKSEL(Turkey)-AKKORD (Azerbaijan) partnership within the scope of the project that will transmit Azerbaijani gas to Europe. The contract includes the construction of 450 km, 56’’ diameter pipeline that will go through Sivas, Erzincan, Gümüşhane and Bayburt cities of Turkey. The approximate contract value is USD 540 million and the construction work is planned to be completed in 36 months.

Starting from the Georgia border, TANAP will cross Turkey in east-west direction and connect to TAP Project (Trans Adriatic Pipeline) in Greece border. The volume of natural gas to be transmitted with the project will increase gradually. The annual gas transmission capacity of the project is expected to reach 16 billion m3 in 2018; 24 billion m3 in 2022 and, 31 billion m3 in 2026.

Developing its engineering and construction skills during the construction of large diameter water transmission pipeline projects in Saudi Arabia since early 80s, Yuksel will take part in this important project of Turkey. The contract, being the largest oil & gas project of the company to date, has a special importance for Yuksel.
